Urunga is situated North of Nambucca Heads and South of Coffs Harbour on the Pacific Highway. It is the largest town in the Bellinger Valley and is where the Bellinger and Kalang Rivers meet the sea. The name was derived from an Aboriginal word meaning ‘long white sands.’
The Urunga Holiday Resort is adjacent to the nine-hole golf course and is just 20 minutes drive from Coffs Harbour. The sub tropical coastal style units are within short walking distance to the beach and has many other benefits including the licensed club, golf course, croquet lawns, squash and tennis facilities and also has a junior playground area.
Urunga and its surrounding areas offer many activities for all the family including swimming, sail boarding, water skiing, fishing, bike riding, boating, bowls, bush walking, horse riding, sight seeing tours and carting.
You could visit any of the shopping centres, restaurants or the Urunga Golf and Sporting Club. The Honey Place, Pet Porpoise Pool, Clog Barn, Big Banana, Botanical Gardens and the Opal Store are just a few of the most popular tourist attractions around the area.
